Vero is a premium Italian brand of wines and the founder, Fabio Vero, decided to open his own business with a goal to create better wines. To do this he traveled all around Italy, sampling each region’s finest wines, and eventually learned how to blend them to create the very best Vero. He then decided to open a new store in New York City, hoping to tap into the wealth of New York’s wine culture. His new company was a hit right away, selling great tasting wines from Italy and Germany. The success of his company made him desire to open his own vineyard, and this is when he discovered a strange phone number on his answering machine.
It was not long before Vero decided to look up the owner of this mysterious cell phone number. After looking up the number in several online directories, he discovered that it came back to a Vero subsidiary called Le Pescia. Curious, Vero decided to make a call to ask more about this mysterious caller, but when he told the receptionist he was looking for information on veera wines, she said nothing. Frustrated, Vero hung up on her and called back in a few hours to find out who the number was and what kind of offerings they had to choose from.
When Vero finally got someone on the line, she was very cordial and gave Vero all the information he needed to know about repeats and viticulture, as well as their prices and where they sold their wines. Although she told Vero she didn’t have any more information on the mysterious caller, he still wasn’t satisfied. He wanted to know why no one at the company would answer his phone or even take him on the sales floor. To make things worse, the receptionist that took Vero’s call also happened to be married, which only added to Vero’s frustration.
